
The San Diego Mesa women's basketball team saw its three-game win streak snapped on Wednesday evening falling to MiraCosta 45-60.
Despite shooting 31.6% from the field, the Olympians still managed to give themselves a chance late in the game, cutting the Spartans lead to six in the 4th quarter. However,
Deyjanae Williams was too much for the Olympians scoring 9-points late in the 4th quarter which included 2 steals and 2 offensive rebounds to secure the victory for the Spartans.
The Olympians were led by Niki Madgedi who scored 8 points, 8 rebounds, and 2 steals. Gwen Morris - Lundstrom also turned in 8 points and 4 steals. Emma Fitzgerald contributed with 7 points and 4 rebounds.
Conference play continues on Friday, January 13 as the team travels to take on San Diego City College. Tip off is scheduled for a 5:00 p.m. start.
