With the schedule for the Cerritos Mini-Tournament adjusted due to one school dropping out, the Cerritos College men's water polo team made the most of their one game on Friday. The Falcons (9-6) defeated Ventura College, 14-11, which increased their winning streak to three games in a row. The team will travel to El Camino College on Wednesday for a 4:15 p.m. South Coast Conference game.

In the win over the Pirates (5-5), sophomore Jacob Colon (Schurr HS) led the way with seven goals, which included three in the third period, as Cerritos turned a 7-7 game at intermission into an 11-9 lead with eight minutes left. Colon scored the first two goals of the third period to put the team in front, 9-7 and then closed out the scoring in the stanza with six seconds remaining.

Cerritos put the game away by scoring the first three goals of the fourth period, as Colon, Max Lucero (Whittier HS) and Guillermo De La Mora (La Serna HS) found the back of the net.

Along with his seven goals, Colon also posted five steals and drew four exclusions, while De La Mora and Tim Robles (Schurr HS) each added three goals.
