Basketball was unable to get their first conference win as part of a double-header on Wednesday night against Allan Hancock.
In the opening game Men's Basketball fell 67-51. Despite only trailing by six points at the half, Allan Hancock broke away in the second half. The Brahmas forced more turnovers but struggled from the field. Pierce shot 30% from the field. Allan Hancock forcibly won the rebound battle 42 to 19.
GD Deng let the Brahmas in scoring at 19 points, while Isiah Salim had 14. Pierce is now 0-4 in conference play.
In the latter game women's basketball were outlasted 78-62, a similar story to the first game. Pierce would get close but unable come even. The stats were nearly identical in every department, but turnovers as the Brahmas had nine more turnovers, and lost the points off turnover battle 38-12.
Both programs look for their first conference win in a double header against Oxnard College, Saturday, Jan 27.
