Owls Extend Win Streak to 10 in Santa Monica

The Citrus College Men's Basketball team extended their winning streak to 10 games by defeating Santa Monica College 108-96 yesterday in an away conference matchup. 

Citrus College moves to 16-2 overall on the season and 4-0 in conference games, while Santa Monica College goes to 8-8 overall and 1-2 in conference games. 

The Owls found themselves down 55-49 at halftime after going 1-of-13 from three-point range and 15-of-36 from the field. Citrus College clawed back in the second half as they hit 5-of-13 three pointers and went 19-of-36 from the field while going 16-of-21 from the free throw line. 

The Owls outscored the Corsairs 25-13 in points off turnovers, 16-4 in fastbreak points, while forcing 21 turnovers. 

Citrus College was led by KJ Perry who scored 32 points with five rebounds, two steals and one assist. Tyler Isaak scored 19 points and added five rebounds and one assist. JJ Mitchell made his season debut, scoring nine points with two steals, two rebounds and one assist. Brady Cook came off the bench to score 11 points and added seven rebounds and one steal. Brandon Suber contributed nine points, three rebounds, two assists and two steals. 

Citrus College will look to continue their dominant run when they travel to Bakersfield College for a 7 p.m. conference matchup this Wednesday, January 22nd.
