
In the opening series of IEAC play for Cerro Coso, the Yotes take home the series win against College of the Desert going 2-1 on the week with both of their wins on the road. Saturday's win shows this teams grit by bouncing back after a rough loss at home on Thursday.
SO Jordan Boman got the win on the mound for Tuesday's game, and FR Jaylen Gutierrez took home Saturday's win. Boman pitched 6 innings giving up 3 runs and punching out 6 of the batters he faced. Gutierrez threw a strong 5 innings only allowing 2 runs and punching 4. Both Yote pitchers lead the IEAC in wins, with Guiterrez also in the top 5 in strikeouts with 24.
On the offensive side, the Coyote bats continue to stay hot scoring 28 runs on the week. The team hit 5 home runs on the series with two of them coming from sophomore bat Jordan Boman. SO Dariel Rios, who leads the IEAC in AVG, also had himself a solid week going 8-14 with a HR. The offensive side as a whole for the Yotes have been staying strong all season and they will look to continue this momentum as the season goes on.
The Yotes are back at home this week hosting Antelope Valley College on Tuesday and Thursday at 1:00 PM. They hit the road on Wednesday and Saturday to face AVC and West LA College.
