The #4 Women's Basketball traveled to Santa Maria to take on Allan Hancock in WSC North action. The Raiders were looking to claim a share of their 6th straight WSC North title. Waiting for them was an inspired Hancock team hoping to delay the Raider celebration but in the end the Raider's uptempo pace took a toll on the Bulldogs and Raiders came home with 73-52 win. The Raiders can clinch an outright championship against Oxnard on Wednesday, 2/19.
As usual the Raiders raced out to a 27-14 1st quarter lead and it looked like the rout was on. The Bulldogs outscored the Raiders 16-11 in the 2nd using timely shooting and some Raider mistakes. The Raiders settled down in the 3rd but the Bulldogs stayed close. Hancock would cut the Raider lead to 10 in the 4th but Raiders were able to pull away using their defense and outscored the Bulldogs 23-13 to close out the game.
Mikayla Oliver scored a game high 18 points with 8 rebounds and 4 steals. Mika Jarrett had 12 points, 6 assists and 3 steals. Alyssa Saldana had 10 points and 6 assists.
