The #7 Women's Volleyball team started the week hosting Ventura on Dig Pink Night and capped off the week traveling to Santa Barbara.
The Raiders swept the Pirates in their first meeting of the year. The Pirates came into the game inspired and took the first game only for the Raiders to pick up the reverse sweep win, 3-1. Game scores were 20-25, 25-19, 25-22, 25-19
The Raiders followed that with a road trip to Santa Barbara, the only team to beat them in conference this year. The Vaqueros defeated the Raiders 3-1 two weeks ago and the Raiders returned the favor this time around, 3-1. Game scores were 25-23, 18-25, 26-24, 25-19
Grace Hazelton led the Raiders attack against Ventura with 12 kills and 9 digs. Abby Montana and Alesia Thomas each had 10 kills. Gaby Schirado had 37 assists.
In the Santa Barbara game, the Raiders were relentless in their attack and defense. Hazelton and Thomas each had 19 kills. Thomas added 16 digs while Hazelton had 12 digs. Schirado had 51 assists and 16 digs. Prior Borick had 28 digs at Libero. Montana added 11 kills with 7 digs.
The Raiders are now 8-1 in WSC North with 3 to play, 18-4 overall. They start of on Wednesday, hosting Hancock on Sophomore Night, 11/6, 6p. Then they'll make the long trek north to Cuesta to cap off the week, 11/8, 6p
