Compton, Calif. - The Compton Tartars Women's Basketball team tipped off their season losing a close game against the Copper Mountain Fighting Cacti to a score of 61-55.

In the first home opening game the Tartars came out focused and ready. Throughout the game there were several lead changes as the Tartars were led by Destiny Arambula-Jimenez as she scored a team-high 21 points and made four 3-pointers. The team kept the score close throughout, Danielle Calhoun led the Tartars as a guard in rebounding as she grabbed a total of nine rebounds.

The women's basketball team's (0-1) next opponent will be on the road as they will compete against Chaffey College on November 3rd at 5:00 pm.
