Falcons suffer 71-62 loss at San Mateo

SAN MATEO – Corian Taylor scored 13 points to lead the Coalinga College men's basketball team in a 71-62 non-conference loss at College of San Mateo on Friday.

It's been a tough start to the 2024-25 season for the Falcons as they are now 0-4 overall.

Coalinga clung to a narrow 35-33 lead at halftime but San Mateo went on to outscore the Falcons 38-27 over the final 20 minutes to hand them the loss.

Taylor added 5 rebounds and 2 assists. Isaiah Harper totaled 10 points and a team-high 8 rebounds. Jarmarian Harper chipped in with 9 points and 5 rebounds while Donovan Johnson also scored 9 points.

Coalinga will look to earn its first win on Tuesday (Nov. 19) when the Falcons return home to host Monterey Peninsula College in a 6 p.m. non-conference game.
