PALM DESERT - College of the Desert (3-2-3) had an offensive explosion as it faced off with a team for the first time in 16 years, Monserrath Bedolla Guzman had three goals and Dalaina Johnson had five as the Roadrunners' women's soccer team thumped the East Los Angeles Huskies of Monterey Park, 9-0, on Tuesday.
Sophomore goalkeeper Jessica Uribe (Indio Shadow Hills) grabbed her fourth clean sheet of the season, making five saves in the win. She shared the clean sheet with freshman goal keeper Stephanie Pina (Indio H.S.), who played the final 26 minutes of the match and made three saves. Sophomore forward Monserrath Bedolla Guzman (Thermal Coachella Valley) not only had a "Hat Trick," but also moved into the Top 5 in the State in goals with her eighth goal of the season and freshman forward Dalaina Johnson (Cathedral City H.S.) claimed the state lead in goals with 15, matching her jersey number.
