Aranda, Radeke Named 3CFCA Player, Pitcher of the Week
LOS ANGELES — First-year outfielder Megan Aranda of Chaffey College and sophomore pitcher Madilyn Radeke of El Camino College are the California Community College Fastpitch Coaches Association's picks for Player and Pitcher of the Week following standout performances that led their teams to unbeaten weeks.
Aranda, a Corona, CA native, is flirting with a .400 batting average on the season after collecting six hits in nine at-bats last week, including two doubles atop the Panthers' lineup. She also drove in a pair of runs on top of scoring four herself, tied for the lead amongst all nominees in a 2-0 week for Chaffey.
Radeke, a returner from Redondo Beach, CA, dealt against two ranked teams this week, including the state's best, and only surrendered one run in 14 innings. She trusted her defense and pitched to contact, striking out just four in a 1-0 shutout of No. 15 Cerritos College; then completed a 2-1 gem against top-ranked Fullerton College, all without allowing a walk.
