An All-South Coast Conference First Team selection as a freshman, Pasadena City College women's water polo goalie Gloria Gray is talented in a number of ways. Her strong right arm has been utilized to try to set up plays out of timeouts and she has been known to take the long-range shot at mid-pool or even closer in.

Gray made 10 saves and scored a goal on Sophomore Day for the Lancers in the team's final home game of 2023--a 14-7 loss to Chaffey played at Pasadena Poly School.

The letterman made a number of quality blocks, several at short range as she is approaching the 200-save mark in her career (now with 185). She ended up taking four shots on goal, scoring her third goal of the season during the fourth quarter.

"Gloria is such a team leader out there, helping out in any way she can," said PCC head coach Terry Stoddard. "She's been our best player the past two seasons."

The team's other dressed sophomore Dymaris Gonzalez scored a goal late in the second quarter. Savannah Ortiz has been out with an injury but also participated in a pre-match ceremony for the team's 2-year lettemen.

Freshman Luna Encinas added to her team-leading goals total with three to give her 25 on the season. Arwen Wen had her best game of the year, totaling four assists and making two steals.

Katie Ward scored a goal with three steals and three field blocks while Ivy Samuel collected a goal and two steals.

The Lancers will play in the South Coast Conference Championship Tournament Nov. 3-4 at Long Beach City College.
