Women's Water Polo Goes 2-0 at Golden West

HUNTINGTON BEACH, CA - The LAVC Women's Water Polo team went 2-0 at the Golden West Tournament last weekend.
In the first game the Monarchs beat East Los Angeles 12-5. This was the second win over the Huskies this season. Kyra Freemon led the Monarchs scoring six goals and stealing back five balls from East L.A. In goal, Zoey Francis held the Huskies down with 11 saves in the game.
The second game saw the Monarchs beat Cerritos 14-4. Once again Francis was incredible in goal saving 18 shots in the game. Scoring for the Monarchs was pretty even with Demy Brati and Freemon each scoring four and Mariane Avila and Ashley Hartunian scoring three each.
Great showing Monarchs! Women's Water Polo will play their first Western State Conference game at Ventura on Wednesday, October 4, at 4:30 p.m.
