Despite being held scoreless in the first quarter, Citrus College shook it off and grabbed a 9-7 victory over Cuesta College to win third place in the Western State Conference Tournament.
The Owls improve to 14-15 on the year and will wait to see if they qualify for the SoCal Regional on Sunday. The Cougars end the season at 13-15.
Sierra Beltran led the Owls with four goals, while Genesis Moradel and Andrea Hayler each added two and Trinity Hulet also had a goal.
It came down to the final eight minutes after the two teams were deadlocked at 7-7 after three quarters.
Beltran rattled in a pass from Hayler to put Citrus in front and Hayler added some cushion with a goal with just 38 seconds left in the quarter to secure the victory.
