Women's Water Polo Goes 2-0 in Own Tournament

VALLEY VILLAGE - LA Valley College Women's Water Polo went 2-0 in the Los Angeles Valley College Women's Water Polo Mini Tournament over the weekend.

The Monarchs started the long day with a 12-7 victory over East LA.  Kyra Freemon (pictured) led the Monarchs with six goals in the game.  Mariane Avila scored three of her own goals to help the Water Polo team to vicotry.

In the second game, the Monarchs scored a whopping 20 goals in the 20-6 win over El Camino.  Several Monarchs scored goals with Clarisa Robles scoring a team leading six.  Kelly long had the next most goals with four.  Freemon and Demi Brati contributed three goals each.  Zoe Francis held El Camino down saving 14 potential goals!

Great start to the season Monarchs!  Women's Water Polo travels to the Riverside Tournament this weekend playing four games between Friday, September 15 and Saturday, September 16.
