Bobcats rally past Pirates

The Saddleback women's water polo team battled for a 12-10 win against Orange Coast College on Wednesday in Costa Mesa.  The Bobcats remain undefeated in Orange Empire Conference play.

Saddleback was tested on Wednesday by Orange Coast, having to score some late goals in order to hold off the Pirates.  The Bobcats took an early lead but Orange Coast came storming back to take a lead in the fourth quarter.

Saddleback scored five goals in the last 6:50 of the game after Orange Coast had grabbed an 8-7 advantage.  Lola Annear started with two goals to get the Bobcats back in front.  Katherine Butler (pictured), Brielle Horner and Emma Jimenez all scored goals in the last 4:12 of the final quarter to seal the victory.

Annear and Horner led the Bobcats with three goals apiece in the win.

Lilian Wang played the entire game in goal to pick up the win.

Saddleback is now 14-5 overall and 3-0 in Orange Empire Conference play.  The Bobcats are currently tied for first place alongside Riverside City College atop the Orange Empire Conference standings.  Saddleback plays in the Ventura College Tournament this weekend before traveling to Riverside City next Wednesday at 4:15 PM.
