In a close battle, Citrus College came out on top with an 8-6 victory over No. 8-ranked Ventura College Wednesday afternoon.
The Owls improve to 11-10 overall and 2-1 in Western State Conference-South with their ninth-straight win. The Pirates fall to 16-6 on the year and 2-2 in conference.
Delaney Latham led the Owls with five goals in the game, while Charly Figueroa, Sarah Jurado and Sierra Beltran also scored. Andrea Hayler and Figueroa each dished out three assists, while Hayler drew four ejections.
Isabella Romero finished with 11 saves to help Citrus pick up the win.
The Owls look to carry momentum into the Long Beach Tournament this weekend.
