Women's Polo Exits Home Tourney Due to Injuries

Cuesta College is hosting the 24th Mechanic Bank Women's Water Polo Classic this Friday and Saturday, however the second day will move forward without the Cougars in the pool.   The Poloists opened the tournament with two of. their players sitting out due to injury and then lost two more players in their tournament opening loss to Western State Conference rival Santa Barbara City, 12-3.   This weekend marked the Cougars fourth straight week with a tournament, but the 11-woman team will be sitting out the second day and working on getting healthy, while also offering their healthy players some extra rest and time to prepare for conference play.  Cuesta has three Western State Conference games on next week's dance card.

Next week, women's polo travels to the greater Los Angeles area for a trio of Western State Conference games.  They will join the men in a WSC Mini-Tournament at Santa Monica on Thursday, where they will play both the host Corsairs (1:40) and visiting Citrus College (TBA).  The Cougars will stay on the road and travel to Van Nuys on Friday (1 PM) for another Western State Conference game against Los Angeles Valley.  The game against the Monarchs completes their first round in the WSC circuit and all the WSC teams will meet again for the WSC Championships back at LA Valley on the first weekend of November.
