No. 7 Women’s Water Polo Takes Down ELAC 18-5 with Ease

The state-ranked No. 7 Long Beach City College women's water polo team ripped apart East Los Angeles College 18-5 in their home opener and their first South Coast Conference game.

Sophomore attacker Katie Juarez led the Vikings with five goals, while freshman defender Gabby Gillott and freshman center Emily Molendyk each tallied two goals each.

Sophomore goalkeeper Danielle Sgontz started in the cage in the first half and nabbed four saves, while only allowing two go by her, and freshman goalkeeper Avery Reyes subbed in the second half and also saved four, while only allowing three goals.

The Vikings will be back in the pool on Tuesday, Sept. 27 at 4:30 p.m. to host Chaffey College for their second South Coast Conference matchup.
