After suffering a home Orange Empire Conference loss against No.2 in state Riverside City (19-7), the No. 9 Hornets took three out of four matches at the Ventura College Tournament.
On Friday, FC fell in a 12-9 battle against No. 1 Santa Barbara City and then beat San Joaquin Delta 9-3.
Against the Vaqueros, the Hornets were down 4-2 at the half but took an 8-7 lead into the fourth quarter. SBCC held on for the win outscoring FC 5-3 in the final quarter. Macayle Franco led all scorers with 5 goals in the game.
In their third game of the season against Delta, Fullerton, once again had their number. Jumping out to a 4-1 lead in the first half, FC ran away with it in the third quarter scoring 4 goals to the Mustang's 1 goal. Four Hornets scored 2 goals each in Riley Jackson, Alexandra Haluska, Elyse Weske, and Moncerath Maldonado.
On Saturday, Fullerton swept through both games against Merced 18-3 and Mt. SAC 14-8.
In the high-scoring Merced game, the ball was spread around evenly as five Hornets scored 3 goals (Moncerath Maldonado, Macayle Franco, Elyse Weske, Alexandra Haluska, Kayla Arias).
Against Mt. SAC, the Mounties kept the Hornets off balance in the first quarter taking a 4-1 lead. Fullerton answered back in the second quarter outscoring Mt. SAC 8-1 before earning its 11th win on the season. Elyse Weske and Kaylee Rojas lead the way scoring 3 goals each.
