VISALIA - The College of the Sequoias is excited to announce the hiring of Arianna Perry as the new head cross country coach, and assistant track coach for distance runners. Perry brings a wealth of experience, a proven track record, and develops her student-athletes both on and off the course.
Arianna Perry, a Tulare native and Fresno Pacific University alum, has spent over a decade building cross country and track & field programs at the high school level. Since 2018, she has led the Tulare Western girls' cross country team to six league titles, including the last five in a row. Perry’s leadership also contributed to back-to-back Central Section titles for the boys’ program in 2021 and 2022. Her commitment to excellence earned her the Central Section Coach of the Year award for the 2021– 2022 school year.
“I am thrilled to join the College of the Sequoias and excited for this opportunity,” said Coach Perry. “Distance running is more than just a sport; it’s a chance to teach discipline, resilience, and teamwork. I look forward to working with COS student-athletes and building a program that competes at the highest level while promoting academic and personal growth.”
In addition to her coaching achievements, Perry has played a significant role in guiding student-athletes toward success beyond high school. Under her leadership, numerous runners have advanced to compete at four-year colleges and universities, including COS alumni (Joseph Flores and Julian Valdivia) who have thrived in their collegiate careers. Her expertise in developing talent and her dedication to mentoring athletes make her a perfect fit for the Giants.
COS Athletic Director Brent Davis stated, “Arianna Perry is an exceptional hire for our cross country program. Her passion for the sport, her connection to the local community, and her history of success are exactly what we need. We are confident that her leadership will bring continued success to our program.”
Perry’s personal accomplishments as an athlete include competing in cross country and distance track events at Fresno Pacific University and finishing the Boston Marathon twice. Perry is still active in the Tulare County running community. Her deep understanding of the sport, combined with her vision for the COS program makes her the ideal leader and she will begin work with the COS Track and Field program this January.
