Sierra takes top spot in latest 3CFCA rankings, Palomar new No. 2
Fullerton and Bakersfield made big jumps in the latest rankings.
LOS ANGELES, CA — The Sierra College Wolverines are the new No. 1 team in the California Community College Fastpitch Coaches Association after posting five more wins to improve to 12-0 overall. The Wolverines were bolstered by 3CFCA Pitcher of the Week Amaya Sutton who posted a pair of wins during the stretch including a 4-3 victory over previous No. 2 San Mateo. Sierra also added a pair of wins over No. 12 San Jose and another against No. 17 West Valley.
Fullerton made the biggest leap, moving up 10 spots to No. 10 after taking down last week's No. 1 team Mt. San Antonio College 7-3 to go with wins over San Diego Mesa and Long beach to improve to 4-0 on the season.
Palomar took over the No. 2 spot and stands as the top team in the South Region with a 3-0 win over Saddleback and a dominating 13-0 victory against No. 19 Santiago Canyon. Bakersfield made its way back into the Top 10 at No. 8 with wins over No. 6 Cypress and No. 9 El Camino.
West Valley earned its way back into the rankings at No. 17 after a 4-1 performance during the week.
