San Diego Mesa's Clark and Moorpark's Knudsen lead men's volleyball all-conference honors

IRVINE - The Southern California Men's Volleyball Conference 2025 all-region teams for the North and South were recently released.

San Diego Mesa sophomore opposite Trevor Clark and Moorpark sophomore outside hitter Jacob Knudsen were named most valuable players of the South and North regions, respectively.

Clark was unstoppable most of the year. Clark, who is headed to play at UC Irvine, led the state in kills at 6.27 per set and in total kills with 495, which was nearly twice as many as the second player on the list.

He was also second on the state in hitting percentage at .442.

The 6-9 Clark recorded double-digit kills in 21 of 25 matches on the year, topped 20 kills 13 times and had 30 kills or more in six contests, including a season-high 36 in a five-set win against Irvine Valley in late March.

Clark helped lead the Olympians to a 21-4 overall record, a South Region Pacific title and a trip to the 3C2A State Championship final where they lost to Golden West in four sets.

Knudsen helped lead Moorpark to a standout season.

Moorpark went 18-5 overall and won the North Region Canyon title (12-2) and made the quarterfinals of the state event before losing a tough, five-set match to Santa Barbara.

The 6-2 Knudsen averaged played in 21 of 23 matches and 3.40 kills per set to lead the team.

He also finished with 245 total kills and hit .343 on the season.

There were three coaches of the year with Moorpark associate head coach Danny Rodrick (18-2 overall) and Santa Barbara City's Bridget Kulesh (16-8 overall and made the state semis) sharing Northern Region honors and Golden West's Nick Amado earning the nod for the Southern Region after doing a fabulous job with the Rustlers all season.

Golden West won the 3C2A title and finished with a record of 23-2 overall. It was the men's program’s first state title since 2013.
