Former Saddleback Gaucho Phillip Blanks makes catch of a lifetime

MISSION VIEJO - The Saddleback College football program was back in the news this week when former Gaucho Phillip Blanks had a heroic moment in saving the life of a child in Phoenix on J uly 3. Blanks is seen on camera catching a child that was tossed off the balcony of a burning apartment building in Phoenix.
Blanks played one season at Saddleback in 2016 after transferring in from Kalamazoo Valley College following a tour of duty in the US Marine Corps.
Blanks spoke to ABC7 News and KCAL9 News about the incident.
