VENTURA, CA – Despite missing a significant chunk of its lineup this past Friday at the Ventura Tournament, the SBCC women's soccer team earned a 0-0 draw against Evergreen Valley.

Santa Barbara remains unbeaten three games into the season, now with a 1-0-2 record. The Hawks moved to 0-2.

"The ladies did well today to grind out a draw with eight players unavailable. The high heat and the low numbers made it a hard day scoring goals but made for another great defensive showing from the whole team making it their third shutout of the season," head coach John Sisterson said. "Notably, Analea Pule made a few important saves yet again. Freshman Athena Bow Graham had a great showing playing multiple positions on the game."

The Vaqueros were able to put out a lineup of just 14 players, but was fortunate to have only one of its opening eleven starting for the first time this season.

SBCC ended the game with 10 shots, while Pule was able to make four big saves to maintain a third straight clean sheet to begin the year.

After having Tuesday's game at Taft postponed due to excessive heat, the Vaqueros will be home for the second time this Friday, Sept. 9 to host Chaffey at 2:00 p.m.
