Women's Soccer Blanks Merced 7-0 in 2021 Home Opener

Sierra Women's Soccer hit the ground running, blanking Merced 7-0 in their 2021 home opener. Coming off a 1-0 win at Cabrillo, the Wolverines were eager to show what they are made of on their home turf. By halftime, Sierra held a 4 point lead, and added 3 more in the second half for the 7-0 final.

Just seven minutes in, Sierra's Charity Myers got things started with the first goal, followed by another just a minute later - both assisted by Sheare Ford BarreraEmma Scott (asst. Sheare Ford Barrera) and Amber Pon (asst. Charity Myers) scored a goal each in the first half, while the Wolverine defense held off the Blue Devils, keeping the action decisively on the Merced side.

In the second, goals came from Alyssa Najarro (asst. Emma Broers), Grace Roberts (asst. Alexa Sanchez) and Dylan Sackett (asst. Alyssa Luna), rounding our Sierra's 7-0 victory as the Wolverines improve to 2-0 on the season.
