The 15th straight win for the GCC Baseball Team at Stengel Field Thursday April 7 did not come easily against College of the Canyons and was not without a few dramatic moments. But the 7-6 win for the Vaqs showed why they are one of the elite teams in the state with their ability to come from behind, rally to take the lead and hang on in the end.

Sophomore Tobias Plotkin earned the win to improve to 3-1 with three innings of solid relief despite giving up a two-run homer in the ninth inning to cut the three-run lead to 7-6. Julian Jaramillo started for GCC followed by Cooper Haseley and Reece Matheisen on the mound. Brandon Nguyen led off the game for Glendale with a solo home run to help boost the 10-hit attack with Hans Seo getting three hits and Adrian Gonzales and Alex Mills had two hits each and two RBI as well as run scoring doubles, the one for Mills breaking a 4-4 tie in the bottom of the eighth after the extra base hit by Gonzalez tied the game in the fifth inning. Catcher Isaiah Velazco had two hits and his run scoring single in the eighth inning extended GCC's lead to 7-4.

Now 14-0 and leading three teams tied for second place with six losses each by six games, Glendale plays at Canyons Friday April 8 at 2:30 pm to conclude the three -game series.
