Softball Ends Regular Season with a Pair of Wins

Bakersfield, CA – The Renegade softball team hosted both Southwestern and Allan Hancock at the Dean and Adah Gay Sports Complex on Saturday and came away with wins to both teams, 8-0 and 10-0 in Sophomore Day.

In the first game, pitcher Talia Nielsen threw a no-hitter to lead Bakersfield past Southwestern for a win in game one. Kady Smith, Marissa Campos, Shelby Buchanan and Destiny Cuellar all drove in runs throughout the game. As a team, BC collected ten hits.

In the second game, Nielsen didn't allow a single run to give the Renegades another five inning win on the day. Bakersfield opened the scoring drive early and often, grabbing at least one run in every inning. Smith and Kylie Haven both launched home runs. Rylee Price, Smth and Haven all had multiple hits. As a team, BC collected 11 hits.

Renegades end the regular season 33-6, 12-0 in conference and will wait on the post season opponent in the first round the first weekend of May.
