Knights Finish Season With Back-to-Back Wins

The Knights went 16-20 overall and ended up in fourth place in the Pacific Coast Athletic Conference with an 11-14 record.
After starting the 3-game series vs. Imperial Valley with a 10-5 home loss last Tuesday, the Knights responded with a resounding 12-2 road victory on Thursday in which Robert Lopez (1), Jackson Huntley (5), and Drew Lazor (3) each hit home runs.
Lopez' home run, his first of the year, was a 3-run shot to left field to put the Knights ahead, 9-0, in the fourth inning. Connor Stewart went 3-for-5 on Thursday with three RBI to help the Knights get the win.
In Friday's season finale, Stewart stayed hot with another 3-for-5 outing, which led to one RBI and three runs. Huntley, who went 2-for-4 on the day, jumpstarted the Knights offense in the second inning with a 2-run home run to left field.
Imperial Valley tied it at 2-2 in the 3rd inning, but Stewart hit an RBI-single in the bottom of the 3rd to regain the lead. His hit was followed by a Huntley RBI off a ground ball to put City ahead, 4-2.
With the bases loaded in the bottom of the 5th, Huntley hit a sacrifice fly to score Julian Nunez. Lazor came up next and singled-in another run to give the Knights a 6-2 lead.
Imperial Valley got one back in the 6th on a double from Jacob Sapp, but that would be the last run they scored. Stewart hit an RBI triple in the 8th and was followed by a Justin Kerby sacrifice fly to score Stewart and give City an 8-3 advantage.
Starting pitcher Santiago Gomez struck out five in four innings of work. Scott Wood relieved him and earned the win after pitching a scoreless 5th inning.
