Cloud Reigns Over the Giants with Series Opening Shutout, 7-0

Cuesta Pitcher Jackson Cloud authored a complete game shutout, 7-0, over the College of the Sequoias Giants in the opening game of their three-day series.  The Freshman Righthander set down the first ten Giants he faced in order and allowed only two hits in the game, while improving his record to 2-0 on the season.  Cloud also had the advantage of getting some early run support.  The Cougars' batsmen banged out five runs in their first at-bat and two more runs aft4r the stretch.  Designated Hitter Liam MacDonald led the Cougars' offense with a 3-for-4 day at the plate, while scoring twice and driving in a run.  MacDonald had a lot of help on offense as four other Cougars enjoyed a multi-hit game, including All State First Baseman Zachary Tallerman (pict).  Tallerman's first inning triple plated two-RBI to put the game out of the Giants' reach.  The victory brought #10 Cuesta's season record back to .500 at 4-4 record and dropped #16 College of the Sequoias to 2-5 overall.

The Cougars and Giants still have two more games left in San Luis Obispo this weekend.  They are also scheduled to play on both Friday (1 PM) and Saturday (Noon) at Cuesta Field.
