Baseball Results For Week Of 3-14 VS Sequoias

After losing two out of three games to College of the Sequoias last week, the Reedley College Tiger baseball team finds itself in fourth place in the Central Valley Conference.
The Tigers went into last week's action ranked 13th in the state by the California Community College Sports Information Directors Association and sixth in Northern California.
The two losses dropped Reedley to 6-5 in the CVC and 15-7 overall, going into a crucial three-game series with second place Merced College. The series began in Reedley on Tuesday, March 22 before heading to Merced on Thursday and going back to Reedley Saturday for a 1 pm contest.

The series with COS began on March 15 in Visalia, as the Tigers recorded a dramatic 7-6 victory. Orin Hirschkorn's two-run homer in the top of the ninth inning off J.T. Friesen (Immanuel) put the Tigers ahead to stay. Elijah Acosta came in to record the save.
Hirschkorn recorded four hits on the day while Koby Kropf finished with three.
But Friesen recovered, recording the win in the Giants' 8-6 win in Reedley on Thursday and a save in Saturday's 5-3 win.

Sequoias scored twice with two out in the ninth off Acosta on a two-run triple by Jackson Brooks to break a six-all tie on Thursday.
Reedley came back from a 2-0 first-inning deficit, tying the game on a two-run third inning homer by Kropf after Nilen Peoples led off the bottom of the first inning with a solo blast. Later, Peoples scored the tying run in the bottom of the eighth inning on a passed ball.
In the Saturday game, Reedley came back from a 3-0 deficit to tie the game on Ramon Rosales run-scoring double before COS went ahead in the bottom of the inning on a bases-loaded walk and a sacrifice fly.
