Falcons win at Santa Rosa

Santa Rosa has historically been a difficult place to play for the FLC soccer teams.  But Friday afternoon, the Falcon women took a huge step toward changing that stigma as they defeated the Bear Cubs, 2-0.  The Falcons hit the field in full stride, looking sharp from the opening kickoff.  Sophomore Emily Doty got the Falcons on the board in the 27th minute with a nifty volley into the corner of the net.  Ten minutes later, freshman Caroline Guthrie made it 2-0 with her goal.  The Falcons continued to pressure Santa Rosa in the second half, but were denied any more goals.  Meanwhile, the defense continued to stymie the Bear Cubs, limiting them to just two shots on goal, both of which were stopped by goalkeeper Hunter Casperson

The Falcons are now 6-0-2 (1-0-1 in Big 8) and will face Sacramento City (3-3-1, 0-2 in Big 8) and Modesto (4-2-1,  1-1 in Big 8) this week.
