El Camino College finished off another four-game week this weekend by splitting a pair of road games at Ventura and Palomar.

EL CAMINO COLLEGE 5, VENTURA 2

On Friday, the Warriors never trailed as they held a 5-0 lead after five innings and never looked back. The offense pounded out 11 hits on the day and nabbed seven stolen bases to spur on the victory.

Mina Nakawake led the way with three hits and two runs scored while Marissa Garza and Ria Cardreon added two hits apiece. Cardreon and Amber Patterson each had two RBI with Clarissa Chiquete driving in the other tally for ECC to score the victory.

Elizabeth Cortez tossed a complete game and allowed just two runs on four hits with one walk and six strikeouts.

PALOMAR 6, EL CAMINO COLLEGE 5

The Warriors were on the verge of finishing the week 4-0 on Saturday as they held a three-run lead heading into the bottom of the sixth. But the Comets tied things up in that inning with four hits including two for extra bases.

The game required extra innings and, in the ninth, Rylee Penrod's RBI triple put the game away for the Comets to score the victory.

Despite the loss, the Warriors pounded out 14 more hits. Macie Jensen had a career day at the dish as she went 4-for-5 to lead ECC. Mina Nakawake, Marissa Garza and Amber Patterson all notched two hits apiece with Garza hitting a solo home run in the first to open the scoring.

Clarissa Chiquete went five and 2/3 innings and surrendered five runs on eight hits. Elizabeth Cortez pitched two and 2/3 innings in relief.

The Warriors return to conference action on Monday afternoon as they host L.A. Harbor at 2:30 p.m.
