Baseball Splits Series Finale with Marin

Fairfield, Calif. - The Solano baseball team split the series finale with Marin on Friday afternoon, falling in the first game, 8-3, before rallying for a 3-1 win.

Freshmen outfielders Dimitri McLen and Dylan Lamb led the bats, counting three hits each on the day. McLen counted a pair of RBI, while Lamb earned a triple.

Solano struck first in the first game of the day, scoring all three runs in the first inning, while taking the eventual lead in the second game behind a two-run third inning.

Freshman Richard Mealey (2-0) tallied the win behind a six-inning effort, scattering two hits with six strikeouts. In the first game, freshman Anthony Galindo (1-1) was the pitcher of record, throwing 4.1 innings.

Solano (3-5) returns to action, facing Santa Rosa next on the road on Thursday, May 6. First pitch is slated for 10 a.m., and the game will be played at Cardinal Newman High School.
