PORTERVILLE – Porterville College pitchers had a tough time recording outs while the offense hit four singles in a 12-2 non-conference loss to visiting Sacramento City College on Thursday.

Pirates starter Kuhron Patrick opened the contest by tossing a pair of scoreless innings before running into trouble in the third. Sacramento City scored twice in the that inning, added two more in the fourth, and then put up four runs off reliever Jason Kramlich in the fifth to blow the game open.

Porterville rallied for its two runs in the bottom of the fourth. Keenan Shaw and C.J. Fish drew bases-loaded walks to force in runs but PC was unable to do more and left the bases loaded.

Chris Ortega, Devan Gomez, J.T. Edmunds, and Stefan Leo had hits for PC.

Kuhon took the loss after allowing two earned runs and four hits over four innings. He struck out five and walked three.

The Pirates fell to 3-19 overall and return to Central Valley Conference action on Tuesday (Mar. 22) when they open a three-game series at Fresno City College at 6 p.m.
