Orange Coast swept SBCC out of the playoffs 25-15, 25-17, 25-12 on Friday night in a men's volleyball state quarterfinal in Costa Mesa.
The top-seeded Pirates improved to 22-0. The No. 8 Vaqueros end their season at 11-8.
OCC is 66-8 in sets this year and it had struggled to beat SBCC 3-2 in their previous meeting on March 16 in Santa Barbara.
Blake Lockhart and Trent Lingruen led SBCC with six kills apiece. The Vaqueros had 19 kills and 19 errors for a .000 hitting percentage.
"We lost in 3 to a good team," said coach Jon Newton. "They came out to play and defend their home court. I'm thankful for the sophomores we have and everything they've given this program."
