Fullerton took a trip up to Cuesta College for the MidState Classic Tournament over the weekend and won three out of four games.
On Friday, FC beat Long Beach City in an overtime thriller 13-9. Emily Jack and Jordyn Lughart led the way with 3 each. Jack had goals with an assist, 2 steals, and a block. Lughart had 3 assists and a steal.
Later on, the Hornets took their second loss of the season to Santa Barbara City College 8-7. The Hornets second loss of the season mirrored their first with a similar 8-7 loss to the Vaqueros in double overtime.
Nieda Torres and Maggie Moreno led the scoring with 2 goals each. Torres has 2 assists and 1 steal.
On Saturday, FC took on two NorCal teams in American River and San Joaquin Delta winning both 13-8 and 13-5.
Against American River three different Hornets scored 2 goals each, Julissa Velazquez, Jordyn Lughart, and Neida Torres.
The Hornets dominance continued against San Joaquin Delta, Amanda Ellerbroek scored 3 goals followed by Julissa Velazquez and Neida Torres who both had 2 a piece.
