Ureno 11 goals leads Las Positas to 22-12 win at CCSF
Las Positas College freshman Monica Ureno exploded for an 11-goal outburst to help lead the Hawks women's water polo team to a 22-12 Coast Conference win at City College of San Francisco on Wednesday.
With the win, LPC improved to 1-3 overall and 1-2 in conference play.
Ureno nearly outscored CCSF all on her own. She scored five goals over the first two quarters to guide the Hawks to an 11-5 advantage at halftime.
Erin Cain had an outstanding game with five goals, Gabrielle Benavidez added four goals, and Brooklyn McNeil and Daniela Hupke also scored once.
Goalie Lily White posted seven over three quarters and McNeil had eight saves in one period.
Las Positas returns to action on Oct. 20 when the Hawks travel to Ohlone College for a 3 p.m. Coast Conference game.
