Beach Volleyball Continues Their Winning Streak Defeating Antelope Valley And Santa Ana
TORRANCE, Calif. – The Warriors continue their winning streak sweeping both Antelope Valley and Santa Ana in today's tri-meet. The Warriors ended all their matches in two sets to extend their undefeated streak to 8-0.
In the first meet versus Antelope Valley, the No. 1 pairs Micah Hammond and Michelle Shimamoto defeated Antelope Valley 21-8, 215. No. 2 Taylor Brydon and Brooklyn Rubio won their matches 21-8, 21-7. No. 3 pairs Victoria Curtice and Megan Lim won their match 21-8, 21-8. No. 4 pairs Aiko Waters and Kiana Takahashi won 21-5, 21-4. No. 5 pairs Nina Wyer and Jolene St. Pierre won their match 21-4, 21-8.
"In the match versus Antelope Valley, the team was not pressed too much. Everyone played well and did their job", commented Coach LeValley Pattison.
In the second meet versus Santa Ana, No. 1 pairs Micah Hammond and Michelle Shimamoto defeated Santa Ana 21-19, 21-17. No. 2 Taylor Brydon and Brooklyn Rubio won their matches 21-5, 21-5. No. 3 pairs Victoria Curtice and Megan Lim won their match 21-8, 21-7. No. 4 pairs Aiko Waters and Kiana Takahashi won 21-6, 21-9. No. 5 pairs Nina Wyer and Jolene St. Pierre won their match 21-15, 21-18.
"Our ones were challenged and played better as the match went on. Brooklyn and Taylor handily defeated their 2's. Victoria and Megan played well and much more consistently. Aiko was crushing balls, so that was fun to watch. Our 5's, Nina and Jolene did a much better job of keeping the ball in play this putting pressure eon the opponents", added Pattison.
The Warriors play Grossmont and Rio Hondo at Grossmont next Friday, starting at 10:00 am.
