Mt. SAC Overcomes Early Deficit to Defeat East Los Angeles

(Monterey Park, CA) A 48-yard pass from Dylan Flenniken to Jonathan Schofield, at the 8:41 mark of the second quarter, turned a 3-0 East Los Angeles College advantage into a 7-3 Mt. SAC lead. The Mounties (3-1) never trailed again, going on to a 21-16 win over the host Huskies (2-2), on Saturday night, at Weingart Stadium.

Flenniken threw two touchdown passes on the night and finished the game with 221 yards, on 17-of-29 passing, with one interception. Sean Bowden led Mt. SAC with four catches for 98 yards, including a 66-yard touchdown pass from Flenniken in the fourth quarter that put the Mounties up, 21-9.

Mt. SAC's Rachaad White led all players with 125 yards rushing on 20 carries, including a 56-yard touchdown run early in the third quarter to give the Mounties a 14-3 lead.

As a team, Mt. SAC tallied 350 yards of total offense to East L.A.'s 216.

The Mounties will host undefeated Saddleback (4-0) at Covina District Field, on Saturday, Oct. 5, at 6 p.m.  Last season, Mt. SAC defeated the Gauchos, 45-7, at Mission Viejo High School.
