Baseball Completes the Sweep; Shuts Out American River in Series Finale

Oroville, Calif. - The Butte baseball team captured its fourth series sweep of the season with an 8-0 win over American River in the series finale on Saturday afternoon.
At the plate, sophomore Jake Agarwal posted a 3-for-4 outing with a double and three RBI. Sophomore Evan Stauch added a 2-for-3 performance with a double, while sophomore Carson Seeman hit a two-run homer to start off the scoring in the fourth for his lone hit of the game.
Sophomore Bryson Reif (2-0) went six complete scoreless innings on the bump, scattering three hits and fanning eight. Sophomores Kyle Kucich and Caleb Schaeffer and freshman Matt Deschaine wrapped up the game allowing one hit and adding a strikeout.
Butte (12-2) open Golden Valley Conference play next at home on Friday, Feb. 24 at 1 p.m.
