W. VOLLEYBALL: ON A ROLL

Fullerton kept its winning ways going at home Wednesday night with a sweeping 3-0 win over Saddleback College.

FC's victory helps the team to an 8-5 Orange Empire Conference record as the Hornets fight for a spot in the playoffs, while the Bobcat loss knocks them back to 5-7 in the OEC.

The Hornets controlled the first set early on taking an 11-6 advantage on a Saddleback error. From there, Fullerton finished it with a big 25-13 win that ended on Faith Webb's kill that was touched by a Bobcat player before the ball sailed out of bounds.

Another Webb kill put the Hornets up 21-14 in set two before winning it 25-17.

In the third set, Fullerton overpowered Saddleback ripping off 5 straight points to take a 10-5 edge. Webb ended the set and match hammering down her 12th team-leading kill at 25-12.

As mentioned earlier, Webb led the way for Fullerton with 12 kills with 12 digs, while McKenna Mokry chipped in with 6 kills. Hannah Wilmes had 5 kills with 12 digs. Alicia Isa Domingo delivered 25 assist and had 6 digs. Maile Tabon led the way in digs with 13.

Up Next: The Hornets (14-10 overall, 8-5 OEC) will not play until next week as this Friday's game at Golden West College has been postponed due to COVID-19 protocols.
