Tartars return to the winning side as they beat the Cougars 5-1

Compton CA-  Compton College Tartars baseball team gets the 5-1 win.

A total team effort for the Tartars was the key to their victory. The Tartars timely hitting fueled the victory over the Taft College Cougars which brings the Tartars great momentum heading back into conference play

Crixtian Taveras remained hot at the plate going (2-for-2) to lead the Tartars on offense. Knocking in one RBI and scoring twice. Catcher Ricky Salcido was very strong defensively from behind the plate as he threw out two opposing runners attempting to steal a base.  He was also (1-for-3,) from the plate.

Adrian Lopez  got the win for the game as he had two shutout innings and only gave up one hit. Todays game was the best showing by the Tartars pitching staff this year as six pitchers went out to only give up a total of four hits for the game. The changing of pitchers really kept the Coyotes hitters off- balance the entire game. Jacob Ramirez was a star pitcher for the game as he pitched two innings without giving up a single hit. The Tartars hope to continue their strong play as they head back into conference play

UP NEXT: The Tartars will be back on the diamond Tueday April 19th, as they play on the road against Mt. San Antonio College. First pitch is scheduled for 2:30pm.
