Corsairs Complete Comeback

Citrus College won the first set but couldn't hold off Santa Monica College's comeback effort as the Corsairs took the match 3-1 (16-25, 25-22, 25-19, 25-19).

The Owls drop to 6-8 on the year, 1-2 in the Western State Conference, while the Corsairs improve to 8-5 and 3-0 in conference with the result.

Delaney Tate led the Owls with 14 kills and had 19 digs for a double-double. Maritza Sanchez had 31 assists, while Evelyn Enriquez and Alexis Aguayo had 14 and 12 digs, respectively.

Errors plagued the Owls in the second and third sets as the Corsairs held the home team to .051 and -.061 respective hitting clips.

Citrus put up a fight in the fourth but couldn't overcome an early 9-4 deficit to drop the fourth set and the match.

The Owls return home to host Glendale on Wednesday at 6:00 p.m.
