Fairfield, Calif. - Despite a late four-run rally, the Solano baseball team was narrowly edged by Marin, 16-15, on Thursday afternoon.

Freshman centerfielder Jaxson Bates posted a grand slam in the fifth inning, his second homer of the season, going 1-for-3 on the day and drawing three walks. 

Freshman Kyle Boll (0-2) was the pitcher of record in the loss, tossing 2.2 innings in relief, allowing seven hits and four earned runs.

Solano (5-16, 2-3) rounds out the series at Marin on Saturday, Mar. 26. First pitch is scheduled for 1 p.m.
