Softball fell at Cerritos, 9-5, in the Cougars' final pre-conference contest. The game was a homecoming for Cuesta Coach Jenel Guadagno, who starred for the Falcons during her playing days and also began her coaching career under Falcons Skipper Kodee Murray (pict) at Cerritos. Cuesta jumped out to a three-run lead, but the host Falcons evened the score in the 2nd and added six more runs over the next three frames, while holding the Cougars, to take the lead. Cuesta added a pair of runs in their final at bat, but fell short of the upset. The loss snapped the Cougars' four-game winning streak, yet provided a good test against a ranked opponent before they open Western State Conference play next Thursday (2:30) at Moorpark.
