Compton, Calif. - Freshmen Ivett Acevedo and Yaretssi Rodriguez scored their first goals of the season to lead the Tartars to a 2-0 victory over San Diego Miramar (0-1) on Friday afternoon.
Acevedo scored on the 39th minute from an assist by Yuliana Estrada and Rodriguez followed up with a goal on the 42nd minute with Chloe Robinson with the assist.
The women's soccer team heads to Palomar next on Tuesday, Sept. 3 for a 3 p.m. match.
