The Santiago Canyon College Softball Team ended the regular season with a double header sweep of Golden West College. The Hawks had swept the opening double header on Wednesday before sealing the series with consecutive 10-0 and 9-1 mercy-rule wins.
In game one, Sabrina Rivera went 4-for-5 with a double, 2 RBI, and 2 runs scored and 4 stolen bases. Jade Costa was 3-for-4 with a double, 3 RBI, and 2 runs scored. Scarlett Adams threw an impressive one-hit shutout with no walks while striking out 7 Golden West hitters.
In the second game of the day, The Hawks collected 9 hits as a team led by Jazmyn Moetului who went 2-for-3 on the day with 4 RBI and a run scored. Hailey Guillen held the Rustlers to 4 hits and one run over 5 innings of work while picking up the win.
The Hawks will return to action on Wednesday to kick off the Orange Empire Conference tournament. They enter the tournament as the #4 seed and will host Orange Coast College at 2pm. The winner of Wednesday's game will travel to Fullerton for a 2pm game on Thursday.
