Women’s Tennis Handles Short-Handed Hornets

The Riverside City College women's tennis team took on a short-handed Fullerton squad in conference action. The Tigers displayed a new-look lineup with newcomers earning their first opportunities in an easy 8-1 win.

It was status quo for the Tigers at the top as a pair of veterans in Samantha Treat and Keeley Arendt teaming up for an 8-2 win. Freshman duo Marvonna Vaxter and Susana Iniguez held down the second doubles slot with a hard fought 8-6 win.

Treat and Arendt followed with two-set wins in the singles matches. Treat cruised to a 6-2, 6-0 win, while Arendt followed with a 6-3, 6-4 victory.

Freshman Semaj Walter earned a two set win at 6-2, 6-3 as the third singles player, while Vaxter followed with a three set win at 6-1, 4-6, 10-8. Freshman Haley Dunkel played her first-career match, but lost in three sets.
