Falcons walk off with 4-3 win

In game two of their weekend series, the Falcons and Beavers alternated scoring single runs through the first five innings.  With the Falcons trailing 3-2 but threatening in the fifth inning after a leadoff single by AnnaMaria Corona, the Beavers brought in their star pitcher from Friday night, who had been virtually unhittable.  This time the Falcons were better prepared and moved Corona over to third with two sac bunts.  When Bailey Pfeiler reached first on an error, Corona scored to tie the game .  The game went to the bottom of the seventh with the score knotted at 3-3, when sophomore Maddy Larson drew a one-out walk, then advanced to second on a wild pitch before a walk to Taylor Eby.  That brought up sophomore Bailey Pfeiler, who dropped a perfect sacrifice bunt in front of home plate.  The pitcher's throw to first was off-target and clanked off the covering second baseman's glove, allowing Larson to motor home with the winning run.  The victory was the Falcons' second walk-off win of the shortened season and improved their record to 2-8.
